Vice President Jon Spector has officially released the new features to the Overwatch League in 2021. According to Spector, there will be several changes to the league, in order to improve the experience and the overall quality to the league.
The first and most basic change is that the 2021 season will begin in April and the teams will be divided into two groups: East and West. The East consists of eight teams from China and South Korea and the West consists of twelve teams competing in Europe and North America.
The biggest change in terms of league structure is that teams will play in regional qualifier matches that will seed teams for the four standalone tournaments. This means that the top four teams from each region compete in one bracket.
Additionally, the league has stated that all regular-season matches will count towards qualification for the 2021 Season Playoffs. However, only the top teams will qualify for and compete in the four main tournaments. There was no word on how teams will qualify for tournaments, but that information is said to be coming soon.
The matches will be played online, due to the Covid-19 situation, but the league will be using a new tool that establishes minimum latency connections so that teams can scrimmage against one another or conduct practices if players are apart, no matter where they are in the world.
Overwatch League is developing a new video series that will give fans more inside views of their favorite players. You will be able to see player and team spotlights as well as pro Overwatch tips and gather the best analysis from the league experts.
This is obviously priceless for you that loves Overwatch betting and that wants some inside information and tips about the teams and the upcoming matches.
