For over two years fans have not been able to watch any Dota Major events live, but that is about to change. From May 20-22 Hovet Arena in Stockholm will host the ESL One Stockholm, the first Dota Major in 2022. It will also be the first Dota Major in front of a big crowd since early 2020.
ESL One Stockholm is part of the Dota Part Circuit, which is a long series of events that started in November last year. At the Major the top teams from each Region’s Division, I will compete against each other.
The event is a great chance for the teams to earn DPC points as there are more points at stake than in any other event on the DPC so far this season. The first-placed team will be rewarded a total of 680 points. The second and third-placed teams will earn 610 and 530 points respectively. The 12 teams with the most DPC points at the end of the season are guaranteed a spot at The International later this year.
Except for lots of DPC points the ESL One Stockholm also has a prize pool of $500,000 with $200,000 going to the winners of the competition. The runner-up will go home with $100,000 and the third-place team with $75,000.
